4 days left...

4 days and I'm out! Tomorrow I head to the bank to exchange some U.S. dollars for Euros, get a notarized letter from my parents and a copy of bank statement. Apparently you have to prove yourself to the Irish government in a variety of ways when you enter the country for an extended stay. After that, all that's left to do...packing. I haven't unpacked all my stuff from my dorm at Mount Holyoke. I'll probably just take things from one suitcase and place them in another. Two suitcases and my backpack; my life for the next 6 months.

Spending the last few days hanging out with my friends from home, cuddling with my kitty and watching tv with my family.

7 days and counting....

7 days to go! I'm so excited; only a bit of housekeeping in the way and I'm ready to go! Packing my life away in two suitcases is going to be difficult, but if ever a time to travel light, it is now. The weather is apparently pretty mild so none of the snowstorm blizzard variety. My plane takes off from Logan around 5:30pm on New Year's Eve and my New Year 2009 begins in flight over the Atlantic Ocean. Arriving in the Dublin airport around 11:30 am and then I head off to my IFSA-Butler orientation with the 20 or so other American students in the program.

Not much else to say here. Wish me luck!
